System Requirements

Virtuozzo Containers for Linux runs on a wide variety of hardware and software configurations. Basic system requirements include:

  • Server hardware
  • Host operating system
  • Supported virtual OS distributions
  • Parallels Virtual Automation and Parallels Power Panel requirements
  • Platform: Any x86 or x64 platform that is supported by the host Linux operating system.
  • Memory: 1 GB or more. (required amount depends on the total number of containers you want to run on the server)
  • Disk space: At least 15 GB of free disk space. (required amount depends on the size of the software to be installed in containers)
  • Network interfaces: One or more network cards.

The exact server configuration depends on how many containers you on the server and what load they generate

Virtuozzo Containers 4.7 can be installed on the following operating systems (both x86 and x64):

  • Red Hat Enterprise Linux 6
  • Red Hat Enterprise Linux 5
  • CentOS 6
  • CentOS 5

Virtuozzo Containers 4.7 allows you to create containers running these Linux distributions:

  • Red Hat Enterprise Linux 4, 5, and 6
  • CentOS 4,5 and 6
  • Debian 5.0 and 6.0
  • Fedora 12, 13, 14
  • OpenSUSE 11 with Service Packs 1, 2, 3, and 4
  • SUSE Linux Enterprise Server 10 and 11
  • Ubuntu 8.04, 9.10, 10.04, and 10.10
